Our favorite gentle yellow Labrador Retriever, Shakti Diva, visits three Library Branches every month with her human, Lisa, for PAWS for Reading. Shakti Diva patiently listens to young readers—even if they’re having a little trouble sounding out the words. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect, and our four-legged friend makes practice easy and fun. 

Reading aloud helps children develop fluency and confidence. Shakti Diva loves listening to a long story or a favorite picture book. You decide which to read!

Children who read 60 minutes can earn a book for their home library.
