Dr. Peggy Baty - 1996 Recipient

Dr. Peggy Baty received the Scharr Medallion in 1996 as part of the St. Louis Public Library's Aviation History Month activities. The award honored her as a flight instructor, author, and founder of the annual Women in Aviation Conference, President & CEO of Women in Aviation, International a non-profit corporation that seeks to involve women in all facets of aviation. Dr. Baty also served as Chief Academic dean of Parks College of St. Louis University and as Director of the Women’s Air and Space Museum in Dayton, OH.
