BULLET St. Louis Public Library’s Grants and Foundation Center
wpe3.jpg (2178 bytes)Slpl1.gif (4177 bytes)Designated as a Cooperating Collection of New York City's Foundation Center in July 2002, the St. Louis Public Library has expanded the services and resources it offers to help nonprofit organizations and those wishing to establish a nonprofit. The Library offers:


Timely, informative materials –

  • A core list of publications (both print and electronic) related to foundations is provided to the Library by the Foundation Center's Cooperating Collection. St. Louis Public Library provides free public access to these materials during a schedule of regular hours.
  • Additional materials in St. Louis Public Library’s collection include extensive materials related to non-profit start-up/incubation, non-profit management, fundraising, non-profit marketing, grant support, and board development/membership. New materials are added throughout the year.

Answers to questions

  • Center staff use Foundation Center  databases and recommended internet resources to answer questions about writing grants as well as establishing and managing nonprofit organizations.

Helpful workshops

  • Orientation sessions and Grantseeking Basics for Nonprofits classes are held in alternate months to introduce people to the resources and support available from the Center. Pre-registration is required.
  • Sessions and special programs devoted to specific topics are scheduled throughout the year and are announced in the Library’s monthly newsletter CIO!.

Access to computers

  • Nonprofits and grantseekers can use the free internet and word processing computers found at the Library’s branches.

  • St. Louis Public Library participates in valued partnerships with the following groups to enhance materials and services available to local nonprofit, foundation, and donor groups.
